Eco Initiatives:
- Removal of non indigenous plants
- Water is cleaned naturally through oxidization dams that create a wetland area, which is ideal for waterfowl. The cleaned water runs back into drainage lines, which ultimately feed underground aquifers. Thus, a full natural water cycle is achieved for which Sabi Sabi has recently won the Imvelo Award for the Best Practice in Conservation.
- It is one of Sabi Sabi's core philosophies that to achieve effective conservation, local communities bordering the Reserve must be involved to their economic advantage
- Sabi Sabi has worked with two highly qualified educators and has undertaken to train teachers in neighbouring communities.
- Sabi Sabi is initiating various small-scale farming projects as well as an environmental education centre in the neighbouring communities.
